Diastolic right ventricular dysfunction

This pathologic mode is characterized by the following list of hemodynamic changes:

  • ñreduction of stroke volume due to decrease of right ventricular inotropic status, that (in contrast to systolic dysfunction) is not accompanied by increase of end-systolic ventricular volume;
  • increase of end-diastolic ventricular pressure, i. e. ventricular filling pressure;
  • reduction of end-diastolic ventricular volume (myocardial hypertrophy) due to increase of right ventricular wall elasticity and reduction of its stressless volume;
  • venous systemic passive congestion down to development of edema, it is modelled by increase of total blood volume.

a) norm;
b) diastolic ventricular dysfunction: reduction of end-systolic ventricular volume, reduction of end-diastolic ventricular volume, reduction of ventricular stressless volume.
