Regurgitation factor in the pulmonary valve
Notation in mathematical model
rHRAR
Allometric exponent
0

The parameter describes pulmonary insufficiency leading to blood regurgitation from the pulmonary artery to the right ventricle in diastolic phase. This pathology is named "pulmonary valve failure".

The mathematical description of this pathology is determined by the equation describing blood flow through pulmonary valve:

(32)

The second part of the formula describes the process of blood regurgitation through pulmonary valve in diastolic phase in case of valvular locking defect (0 < rHRAR< 0.3). In its normal state rHRAR takes on the value 0.
