Storing of laboratory data

Any information, which is a result of calculation procedures of our program-technical complex (output data), and the information intended for à handling (input data), hereinafter is named laboratory data.

We have chosen a standard of the Extensible Markup Language XML as a basic file format for packages of measurements. Nowadays this format is accepted as the standard for the storing of structured information in the Internet. Besides XML format, another well-known graphic formats (BMP or JPEG) can be used in our program for storing of raster graphics.

Laboratory data Classification of laboratory data

  • Models. The information about the model, including parameter values, initial conditions, the set of working pathologies and modelling modes, is stored in files. Models are the result of modelling and identification procedures.
    XML format.

  • Packages of measurements. The files for storing of measurements taken from a real organism. Packages of measurements are the result of numeralization of laboratory data.
    XML format.

  • Image laboratory data. The files for storing of graphical displays of laboratory data.
XML, BMP or JPEG formats. The XML format is recommended.

  • Configuration ADC files. The files for storing of ADC settings, for example calibration curves.
    XML format.

  • Files of options of identification. The files for storing of settings of the identification process.
    XML format.

Òhe current version of program implementation offers the following warehouses of laboratory data.

   Laboratory Laboratory

  • Personal laboratory. It is a warehouse of personal laboratory data of a user. In the operating system Windows it is a folder named Heart model lab into the folder My documents of the current user profile. For each type of laboratory data is by default created the separate system folder in the personal laboratory. Besides files of laboratory data, the additional information about the data and its author is recorded in folders. In the system folder a user can create his own folders.

  • SQL laboratory. It is the storehouse of the laboratory data of users - members of the working group. It is realized in the form of database in Microsoft SQL Server. The laboratory data is stored in the database in the form of data sets, on structure similar to XML files of file system. In SQL laboratory users may create the folders forming hierarchical structure.

  • Web laboratory. It is a warehouse of laboratory data, located on the Web server for free access in the Internet. The data is located by a moderator of Web laboratory. First of all, it is an author's laboratory data, intended for demonstration and education purposes. The structure of folders and their content is administered by a moderator. The access to Web laboratory is authorized by an input of user data. Each user can give his laboratory data for a location in Web laboratory. The decision on data location is always accepted by the moderator of Web laboratory.

  • File system. Using this way of storing of packages, a user organizes the storing of his data with the help of PC file system. The folders with data can be created at will. However, as well as in case of personal laboratory, besides files of laboratory data, the additional information about the data and its author is recorded in folders.
